A fitness regimen – my biggest challenge yet!
I haven’t blogged for about a week, because I’ve been busy planning a fitness regimen and getting mentally prepared to execute it.
Well, I was looking for something challenging to do and realized that the biggest challenge I could give myself is something I have so often repeatedly failed at in the past – a fitness regimen.
I’ve read a lot of literature on weight loss and fat loss (library books, my own books and www resources) and I’ve decided that it’s pointless following some fad diet out there or paying for a fitness instructor/program, because all it takes for a fitness regimen to work is a combination of knowledge and determination – the knowledge of how the human body works and how it reacts to diet and exercise and the determination to do the correct thing and avoid temptation. I’m not following any of the fancy diets out there. Instead I will just take care to ensure I don’t load up too much on the saturated fat and Calories. It’s just the energy intake Vs energy expenditure that I must watch out for.
So, I’ve formulated my own 3-month regimen to achieve some simple fitness objectives (lose 5% of my current body weight of 81.2 kg and reduce my body fat from its current 22.5% to less than or equal to 20%) just in time for the New Year 2010. I hope to follow the regimen properly
