Install Windows Terminal using Scoop

Windows Terminal is a terminal emulator from Microsoft for use with CLI tools and shells such as Command prompt, Powershell and WSL. This terminal emulator software can increase efficiency when working across shells (a single application rather than multiple applications in the taskbar) and is a handy utility on Windows 10 (especially when using WSL).

You may obtain Windows Terminal from the Microsoft store, but if you cannot do so, then you may manually install the application using scoop, as shown in the screenshot below (installed to a custom directory I:\scoop_apps). By default, scoop installs applications in the user’s home directory.

The screenshot below shows the Windows Terminal application in use for command prompt, powershell and Ubuntu (WSL).
